Los Angeles Lakers news alert: The Lakers have signed Christian Wood in 2023 NBA free agency to a two-year deal according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The deal includes a player option and Wood, who spent last season with the Dallas Mavericks, joins the Lakers' .frontcourt with Anthony Davis. Wood has been a Lakers free agent target for a while in NBA free agency, and Lakers GM Rob Pelinka finally got his man. Wood is a dynamic scorer who can play either the 4 or 5, and will fit next to Anthony Davis in Darvin Ham's rotation. Earlier in the 2023 NBA offseason, the Lakers rumors in the front office surrounded their desire to play two bigs alongside LeBron James in Darvin Ham's starting lineup, a formula that won them the 2020 NBA title. Rob Pelinka added Jaxson Hayes in the first few hours of 2023 NBA free agency, and kept a roster spot open in case someone like Wood was going to be available. Wood was the top player remaining in NBA free agency, and completes the Lakers' roster heading into the 2023-24 NBA season.
